1. The Indian
Institute of Alternative Medicines (IIAM) is the premier and leading
institute of the world affilliated to the Indian Board of Alternative
Medicines which is India's largest internationally recognised and
legally constituted organisation of its kind.

The Institute has students from all over the world. Students under the
correspondence programme can complete their courses through course
work, reading, research and writing requirements and finally
examinations are conducted through post or mail or e-mail or fax or
any other method available.

The students may graduate at any time throughout the year as it is
functioning under the open international enrollment policy. However
the students should satisfied their all academic and financial
obligations.
4. The Students of the IIAM are provided with the opportunity to
participate in local/ national and international conferences organised
by the IBAM. These events are an annual feature and provide the
students with a platform to exchange ideas and information, interact
with doctors and therapists of international repute and generally
broaden their horizons.
5. Inspite of the consistent advance of western medicine there is
still a dearth of doctors and practitioners. Hence, there exists vast
scope to practise alternative medicine and career prospects in this
field are indeed bright and beckoning. Opportunities abound to earn
and serve ailing humanity through benign and cost effective methods
of healing, and to be an active participant in the development and
proliferation of alternative medicines which is gaining ground all
over the world.
6. The principal of the IIAM, Dr. S. K. Agarwal, is a highly
qualified physician of international repute. He has been honoured with
various awards by Hon’ble Governors, Union Ministers, Judges, State
Ministers, Mayor, Sheriff, etc. such as the Indira Gandhi Memorial
Award, International Man of the Year Award, Knight of Malta by the
Sovereign Order of St. John of Jerusalem, Michael Madhusudan Award,
Rajiv Gandhi National Unity Award, Manav Seva Award, Mother India
International Award, Priyadarshini Award, Netaji Award etc.

arranges 10 days intensive practical / clinical classes for the
benefit of interested atudents and practitioners.

Exorbitant Course fees have made the study of the science of medicine
inaccessible to the common man. Hence, the IIAM has kept the fees of
its various courses very reasonable and affordable.
9. The course material and lessons sent by the IIAM are written in
very simple and lucid language to facilitate the study of the various
subjects. Even then, should any difficulties arise, students are
always welcome to write to the Course Director who will be pleased to
answer their queries and clear their doubts.
10. It is not necessary to purchase additional books in order to
successfully complete a course. However, it is always advisable to
read the reference books recommended by the Board for each subject.
11. Those students who are interested in pursuing their studies
abroad can contact the Board for information and assistance.
12. Education by means of correspondence has its own advantages as
the students can study at their own time and pace and in their own
environment thus making it a very convenient process.
Printed course materials written in a
simple and easy to understand language supported with multimedia
approach and audio-visual gadgets are provided to the students for
their easy assimilation of the subject.
13. Those interested in engaging in research work are welcome to
approach us for guidance and assistance with their project.
14. The IIAM also recommends meritorious students and practitioners
for various awards / honours / accolades etc.
15. The syllabus of the various courses are as per standard and based
upon the syllabus prescribed by the Ministry of Health Govt. of India
and various other national and international universities and
prestigious socities.
